During our journey north, we’ll have the opportunity to visit the Byzantine church of Agios Mamas, known as the protector of shepherds, and take in its beauty. As we cycle towards Halki, the artistic capital of the island, we can either choose to leave our bikes and stroll leisurely through the village’s charming alleys, enjoying sweet treats at the delightful cafes, or embark on a 10-minute hike to explore one of Naxos’ hidden gems, a stunning Byzantine temple located in a breathtaking setting. If you’re a fan of folklore, let us know, and we can arrange a special visit to a small, family-owned museum of folklore or a traditional pottery.

As we make our way back, we’ll have something to look forward to – a local winery where we can unwind and indulge in a divine tasting of Naxos-produced wines, paired with fresh local cheese, vegetables, and extra virgin olive oil. This picturesque vineyard comes complete with a chapel, a threshing floor, and a friendly and knowledgeable host, making for a truly memorable experience.
