Olive Oil Routes – PRIVATE

This is an important reflection of the local culture that dates back at least 5,000 years, to a time when olive oil production was a painstaking process and the people of Naxos celebrated nature’s generosity.

Take part in an idyllic olive oil tasting in the heart of an olive grove in a small village. Here, the young and passionate owner, who is also an olive oil producer, will guide you through his garden and teach you how to appreciate the different varieties of olive oil.

You will also have the opportunity to visit two olive presses, one modern and one traditional, to learn about the evolution of technology in the olive oil extraction process. At the traditional press, you can imagine how it operated just a few decades ago. Then, step into the tasting room to discover the diverse range of delicacies that can be created using olive oil.

Highlights of this experience include stopping at the 5,000-year-old olive tree, visiting the two presses for a presentation on the extraction process, and indulging in the olive oil and product tasting.
