This is evident from the religious temples that date back to the 6th, 11th, and 13th centuries AD. The 7 km hiking trail, which starts from Halki – the former administrative and commercial hub of Naxos – offers visitors the opportunity to explore these landmarks. The buildings in Halki reflect the affluence of the time, while the village of Moni boasts traditional architecture with narrow alleyways and stone houses. The trail concludes in Kaloxilos, a charming village filled with olive, oak, and plain trees. The village is renowned for its magnificent houses, adorned with rare flowers in their courtyards. The hike is moderately challenging and takes between 2.5 to 3 hours to complete, with an elevation gain of approximately +300m/-300m.
